have you ever seen the rain… ?

Jun.17.2008  by  Peter Donegan

For the hundreds of calls, literally, that have come into my office recently regarding problems with lawn seed not germinating, rolled lawns yellowing, new plants suffering and more recently mature trees showing signs of some stress.

I wrote a post to explain and it is relevant to all, but it comes back to one simple answer and believe me, I want this more as much as you do. Here’s your reason… [press play in the centre of the sceen]

Have your say

Brilliant, I’m trying a bit of water conservation in the garden and trying to hold off watering until really necessary. I’ve watered a couple of times and then it’s poured the following day… A bit wasteful…

Is it worth investing in a rainbutt do you think? They’re about €40 blips, but I was thinking surely I can get a barrel or something for free that will do the same thing…

    Hi Paddy,

and one the great songs as well! the more ethical would be to re-use ieg. ‘a barrel or something’. But if necessary, jane hall at ecoshop.ie has a really cool shop.

With water charges bin charges and charges for almost living on the way… i think water butts may become more popular sooner than you think.

Go for it Paddy… and good luck with the potatoes.
Always good to hear from a newbie eco convert
